The SLX XT is an advanced version of the hugely popular SLX, one of Shimano's best selling baitcasting reels. Retaining the hallmark features that made the original SLX so popular, the 'XT' version features cutting-edge SVS Infinity casting brake adjustment system. This technology uses an external adjustment dial to optimise casting control, particularly enhancing performance with lighter weight lures.

Retaining the robustness and potency reminiscent of all SLX models, the SLX XT also features the brilliant SVS Infinity system, enabling you to quickly and accurately adjust breaking control using an external dial. This enables you to fine-tune your casting precision with unprecedented ease, especially crucial when working with delicate, lightweight lures requiring minimal brake pressure.
Like all of the SLX models, the ‘XT’ uses a high-end HAGANE Body made of lightweight aluminium, which is surprising for a reel in this price category. This delivers a significant performance advantage when compared to inferior composite bodied reels, as a strong, rigid body works more effectively when under pressure. The inclusion of SVS Infinity simplifies casting control by using an external adjustment dial to change the spool breaking force, making this model especially useful for lightweight lures. An advanced aluminium S3D spool is fitted to the ‘XT’, along with an additional high-end ball bearing on the spool shaft, adding further refinement to one of Shimano’s most popular baitcasting reel ranges.
